1. Program for individual applicants
Fudan University offers short-term Chinese language programs twice a year. One is a four-week program in late February and the other is a summer program in July and August. These two programs accept individual application.
Chinese lessons are usually in the morning, there are cultural lectures and visits in the afternoon.
Main courses for short-term Chinese language are listening, speaking, reading, writing and lectures on Chinese culture, like Chinese painting, Peking Opera, folk music and Taiji Boxing. We will also organize visits inside Shanghai and in nearby areas. Foreigners will have a brief idea of Chinese society and culture within a short period.
Recreational activities include watching acrobatics, Peking Opera, Chinese folk music appreciation, etc. Visits inside Shanghai include visiting Shanghai Museum, Shanghai History Exhibition Museum, Shanghai City-Planning Hall, etc.
At weekend, we will organize field trips to famous historic and cultural sites, like Su Zhou, Hang Zhou, Shao Xing, Nan Jing, Wu Xi, Zhou Zhuang, Zhu Jia Jiao, Wu Zhen, Lu Zhi, etc.

Tuition: 2500 RMB for two weeks
2900 RMB for three weeks
3300 RMB for four weeks
From the fifth week, 700 RMB for each additional week
★ If you want to study for five weeks, you have to study from July to August, and the longest study period is 8 weeks.

Accommodation:
Foreign Students Dorm--Single room: 100 RMB/day, Double room: 70 RMB/day.
Dongyuan Expert Building-140 RMB/day/room (private bathroom, air-con, TV, tel)

Application requirements: over 16 years old, healthy foreigners.

3. 50 USD or 410 RMB application fee

Application method: send all application documents to Foreign Students Office of Fudan University, No.220 Handan Road , Shanghai , 200433, China by post. Application without application fee is not valid.
If you use credit card, you can apply through internet, but you should mail all the other application documents to us.
Please note that your application documents and application fee will not be returned.

2. Group Study
Fudan University accepts group application for short-term Chinese language study. The minimum student number is 15. We can make schedule according to your requirements. Study period and cost can be negotiated.

This study only accepts group application. Starting time can be negotiated. The minimum student number is 10. We can offer Chinese, English, Japanese courses according to your requirements.

The following topics are for your reference:
1. Culture Class
Main courses are Chinese language, Chinese history, geography and culture, ancient Chinese literature, ancient Chinese thinking, Chinese arts, Chinese Wushu, Chinese cooking, etc.

2. Business Class
Main courses are Chinese language, business Chinese, China 's economic and political reform, China 's international economic relations, contemporary Chinese society and culture, etc.

3. Painting and Calligraphy Class
Main courses are Chinese language, summary of calligraphy study, seal character and cutting, theory and practice of regular script, cursive script, official script and wash painting.

4. Survey of contemporary China
Main courses are Chinese language, contemporary Chinese society(basic social structure of cities, including family structure, education, social service, youth problems, news broadcasting, mass culture, literature, arts, religion, medical service, etc.), modernization and economic development (economic changes after the reform and opening-up of China, including reform policy, system of ownership, changes in industrial structure and economic development of rural areas, joint ventures, foreign trade, development of the stock market, etc.), China's politics and diplomacy (China's governmental management, policies and diplomacy, including China's politics, parties and government, legal system, national minority, family planning policies, one country two systems, etc.)
